1. Write just one a day
Just a line about whatever caught on you today. There are no streaks and no nudging notifications. If you want, you can set up an email reminder yourself. If there are days you can't write, your entries stay as they are.

A journal where an AI writes back
Write one line, and an AI writes back. In 14 days, one broken vessel is mended in gold.

Why journaling is hard to keep up
Streak systems
The day the streak broke, my reason to keep going went with it.
Reminders that keep coming
Every time one arrived, it felt like being scolded.
Talking to no one
Nothing came back when I wrote, like talking to myself, and I couldn't keep going.
All there is here is a box for one line a day. No streaks, no nagging notifications. When you write, words come back. If you miss a day, you pick up from your next line.
What you write is yours alone. Why not try just once, today?
How it works
These are real screens. The daily rhythm is just these three.
What the AI gives back
From the app
ExampleI felt down about the same thing again. I don't think I'm growing.
Deep kintsugi
The fact that you keep stopping in the same place may mean something precious to you is there. Three days ago you wrote, “I slept early today.” I think that having a place to come back to is itself something that has grown in these two weeks.

How it differs from where you write now
Paper diaries and notebooks
After you write, there is no reply. You are the one who reads it back.
AI chat
You get a reply, but it tends to be full of encouragement and suggestions.
Phone apps
They have notifications and streak features to keep you going. For some people, that becomes a burden.
Gildseam Journal
Open it in your browser and write a line, and you get a reply that takes your words as they are. It doesn't settle things with encouragement or advice. No notifications, no streaks.
Gildseam Journal can also be added to your home screen and used like an app.
The vessel cycle
Everyone starts with a plain white porcelain vessel. When a vessel is complete, it goes into your gallery, and you can keep it as an image, a memento. Vessels with colors and patterns are a Premium pleasure, chosen each time you finish a cycle.
Completed vessels line up in your gallery. The way each one broke and its gold seams are different every time.
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese technique for repairing broken pottery with lacquer and gold. In recent years, it has drawn attention around the world as a metaphor for a way of living that doesn't hide scars or failures. Gildseam Journal is an AI journaling app developed with hints from kintsugi.

Pricing
Sign-up is open anytime. Premium is $59.99 a year or $9.99 a month. For the first 14 days after you sign up, you can try everything in Premium free.
Questions you might have
Your entries are yours alone. The AI reads them only to write its reply, and they are never shown to anyone else. There are no ads, and we don't use any third-party tools that read the contents of your entries.
You don't have to try to keep going. We don't count streaks. If you miss a day, you pick up again from your next line. You can write only one line a day.
Being light is a strength. It opens right in your browser, and what you're in the middle of writing is saved automatically as a draft. Your entries stay until you delete your account.
A vessel is complete after 14 entries, and a new one begins the next day. On the free plan the vessel is white porcelain; with Premium, you can choose a colored or patterned vessel each time one is completed. Completed vessels stay in your gallery.
Writing is free, always. Your entries won't disappear, and you won't lose the ability to write. Only the parts that add depth to the AI and more enjoyment of the vessels are paid. Please use it as a place for your journal, for a long time, with peace of mind.
